I had applied to be a candidate at a couple of recruiting agencies over the years. Both appointments I had were not a fit for me. They did not build on my strengths to leverage me in a way that would help me want to stay with either firm. I found out after the hype the old recruiters gave me that I was a poor fit for both jobs. Don’t get me wrong, I could expertly do the work. I just did not like the positions. I looked into a financial services recruitment agency in bristol and found another agency that worked in a different way to pair candidates with firms.
I finally got the job I thrive at doing. I finally got paired with a firm that utilizes my abilities in the most productive ways. I could do the old jobs I had, but they were not anything like the work I wanted to do and did my best at. For example, a surgeon would probably be great at applying bandages to patients, but his real place to shine would be in doing surgeries. I was doing things at my old job that were easy for me to do, but there was no challenge. It was too boring to even get me to want to get out of bed in the morning. Now, I go in excited to do my work every day.
Each day is another challenge that I take on wholeheartedly because the challenges are things I thrive at solving. It is like a person who likes to build puzzles getting to work out a new puzzle every day and get paid for it. It was really nice to find the agency I did when I looked into new financial services jobs in Bristol. I don’t know where I would be if I had not started looking for a better situation.
